Medical care without residence status

If you do not have a residence permit or health insurance, you can receive free medical care in the event of illness.

Where can I find free medical care?

If you become ill, the office for medical care for refugees in Berlin will arrange medical care (free and anonymous). The “Medibüro” in Berlin is experienced in arranging medical care.

The Malteser Migranten Medizin organisation can also provide you with a free initial examination and emergency care if you don’t have a valid residence status or health insurance. There are 15 cities in Germany with drop-in centres. You can find important information in a variety of languages on the website.
