How can I top up my SIM card?

Top up online

Via Paypal, credit card or instant bank transfer with the new Ortel Mobile top-up service

  • Offline: Purchase top-up vouchers from Ortel Mobile, O2 or E-Plus at various supermarkets, kiosks, petrol stations and in O2 shops. For 15, 20 or 30 euros.
  • Online: Or buy credit via PayPal Digital Vouchers.

How can I redeem top-up cards?

  • Simply enter the top-up code on the mobile phone keypad:

  • Call the account manager on 1155 with your own Ortel Mobile card free of charge, enter the top-up code on the mobile phone keypad and confirm by pressing the # key. 
  • Via the Ortel Mobile Android app or iOS app
  • Online via your personal MeinOrtel customer section

Where can I see my current balance?

  • In the Ortel Mobile Android or iOS app or in your personal MeinOrtel customer section
  • Call your account manager on 1155 from your mobile phone free of charge and press the 1 key
  • Via USSD Code: Enter *101#call button on your mobile phone keypad. The credit balance is shown on the mobile phone display.

How long is my SIM card active after a top-up?

Regardless of the starting balance of your Ortel Mobile SIM card, it is active for three months after activation. During this period, you can use the card for phone calls, SMS and surfing the Internet as well as to activate Ortel Mobile options. 

A credit top-up of at least five euros triggers the start of a new activity window of six months. If you would like to extend your card to the maximum validity period (12 months), top it up again with at least five euros. Please note that for the desired maximum duration you top-up at least five euros with two top-ups – i.e. a total of ten euros. 

Your new activity window starts after the old activity window has expired. This also applies if top-ups are made before the end of the old activity window. 

Your remaining credit will be carried over to the next activity window when you top up again. 

If the activity window ends, you can still be reached for another two months even though inactive. If you don’t top up your SIM card during this period, it will be deactivated. In the event that there has still been a credit on your account at the time of deactivation, you can apply for a refund of the amount within three years of deactivation. Your starting credit and gestures of goodwill will not be refunded. You can find the form here.

I would like to have my remaining credit balance paid out. How does this work?

Once your SIM card has been deactivated or your phone number has been ported to another provider, you can have the remaining credit paid out. We will refund this to you on request up to a maximum of three years after deactivation. So you won’t lose your credit.  

For this, send us the completed Credit Payment form „Guthabenauszahlung“ to:

SIM card without contract

Pay in advance

Prepaid means paying in advance. You purchase a SIM card, which you top up with credit. Then you can book a suitable option from our large selection on your card. Calls and SMS will only be blocked once you have depleted your credit. However, you will still be reachable.

No long-term contract

You do not have to sign a long-term contract. To phone with Ortel, all you need is a mobile phone without a SIM lock. You can order your SIM card online for free or with your starting credit.

Change options flexibly

You can change your Ortel tariff flexibly every month. With Ortel you always are in full control over your mobile phone and telephone expenses.

No additional fees

Since there is no basic tariff yet, there are no additional costs with an Ortel prepaid card. There is no unpleasant surprise when checking the telephone bill.

Flat rate tariffs for smartphone users

Ortel also offers flexible tariffs for smartphone users. Internet flat rates for mobile surfing can be booked as an option - monthly and hassle-free. The good thing is that you can cancel these rates on a monthly basis.
